Wedding Season - Dublin

My second wedding of the summer was held down in Dublin. Both the bride and the groom live there, so all wedding guests invaded Dublin for the weekend, and what a weekend we had!

We were up bright and breezy, loaded up with sausages, bacon and toast we were ready for the day ahead, and perhaps slightly too excited!

My sisters and I made the rare appearance of looking like ladies....this happens once in a blue moon (or at weddings).

After the obligatory family photo shoot in the hotel lobby, we headed off.

We waited patiently for the bride to arrive.

And she arrived on time and looking beautiful!!

We made a speedy exit (before half of the congregation passed out from the heat) and into the gorgeous grounds of Trinity College.

The family photo shoots continued....

and we showed our true colours with some rather undignified posing.

There were a few rumbly tummies after the service, so my cousins couldn't resist taking us to their favourite creperie in Dublin. We got a load of odd looks as we dandered down Grafton street in our finery. But it was worth it for these bad boys....

the ice cream looked pretty darn tasty too.

And as for the roof, it was the bomb digity!!!

Being the ladies we are, we ate our crepes with care and dignity.

Before finding the rest of the wedding party at the reception venue (Fallon and Byrne). After some champagne and a quick chat with the blushing bride we were ushered upstairs for our meal.

Tables were decorated with a selection of gorgeous flowers.

and the wedding favours came in the form of medication bottles.....

filled with special m&m's with the bride and grooms faces on them.

The bride even managed to photobomb us when we were fooling around, you can tell we are all from the same family. - what a bunch of eejits!

The day ended with the cutting of the cake, and a lot a dancing into the early hours of the morning.

It was such a lovely day, I love being with my family and being able to celebrate Mary and James Marriage with them was just so special.

Cake and Coffee Date

One of my most favourite things is cake and sharing it with one of my besties makes it the ultimate combination. Who doesn't love cake and chats?! This particular weekend we visited a new coffee place not far from where we live. It was so lovely, good cake, good coffee and good company in a beaut venue. I love chilled out Saturdays.

I went for my favourite - carrot cake and oh my was it good!!

So good that I couldn't stop eating to take a picture....

Amy had the chocolate fudge cake which was equally delicious!

Whoever said -" Never talk with your mouth full", never visited Coffee Yard.

After we had sufficiently stuffed ourselves with cake and caught up on all the gossip, we went on a walk around the gallery downstairs.

Before walking our cake off  along the sea front.

And of course in true Northern Irish style it started to rain....so we fashioned ourselves some lovely looking head gear....and skedaddled quickly home!
